How Do We Do It?

We have been operating a Wheelyboat on the River Tees since 2009. This has only been possible because of the support we have had from various orginisations, companies and people who have helped us in so many ways.

Our Patron

We are proud and honoured to have Baroness Grey-Thompson DBE as our Patron.

One of Britain's greatest Paralympic athletes, Tanni, amassed a remarkable medal haul over 16 years and five Paralympic Games of 11 gold, 4 silver and a bronze. In 2005 she became ‘Dame’ Tanni Grey-Thompson for her services to sport. In March 2010, Tanni was created a life peer and was conferred as Baroness Grey-Thompson, of Eaglescliffe in the County of Durham.

Our Sponsors

We are immensely grateful for the financial support for our 2022 season from our sponsors.

Our Funders

We have received Funds and Grants over the years to enable us to buy, maintain and improve our Wheelyboat since the beginning including the following --

Our Members

These are the folk who volunteer to run the show, man (and women) the boat and keep it all together. They enjoy being on the river and like to share the experience with others who would not otherwise be able to be on the water.

You too could be part of this. All that is asked for is a commitment of time and nothing else. Training is provided to become a competant crew member and when funds are available to qualify you to be a Skipper. You don't have to go on the water, you could support us in other ways such as fundraising and marketing. Think about it.
